Taxonomy of Aspergillus series Nigri. Aspergillus niger

In this study, we aimed to resolve species limits in the series Nigri. To do so, we have gathered extensive sequence data (available in database and newly generated) and applied a wide range of phylogenetic methods. The synthesis of the resulting data and the consideration of practical taxonomic implications have led to the significant reduction in the number of species.
