Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest: Tree component masses sampled west of watershed 6 by Whittaker et al in 1965

In the summer of 1965, Whittaker et al. sampled 93 trees west of
watershed 6 at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest. Allometric
equations modeling the biomass of various components in relation to
diameter and height were published in 1974 in Ecological
Monographs, and form the basis for most subsequent biomass
estimates at Hubbard Brook and in many other northeastern locations.
The data posted here are oven-dry biomass data by component by tree.

(HBES). The HBES is a collaborative effort at the Hubbard Brook
Experimental Forest, which is operated and maintained by the USDA
Forest Service, Northern Research Station.
