Rule Set and Categorized Dataset for the Triangulated Categorization Framework on Legislative Responses to Violence Against Women in Brazil

This dataset is part of the article “A Triangulated Categorization Framework for Monitoring Sustainable Legislative Responses to Violence Against Women in Brazil: A Maria da Penha Law-Based Analysis” and was used to support the presentation and validation of the article’s results. The dataset operationalizes the Triangulated Categorization Framework through a structured categorization table. Each subclass is governed by explicit semantic and procedural elements, including scope notes, inclusion triggers, exclusion triggers, and typical examples. Scope notes define the interpretive boundaries of each subclass and clarify how institutional descriptors should be understood in relation to specific legislative intervention mechanisms. The inclusion and exclusion triggers support the systematic identification of subclass-specific semantic patterns within the combined analytical text field, composed of the official legislative summary and institutional indexing terms/subjects. This structure makes categorization decisions reproducible and auditable, since each decision can be connected to recorded evidence excerpts extracted from the legislative metadata. The dataset therefore provides both the categorized records and the rule set used to classify legislative propositions related to violence against women in Brazil. It supports transparency, reuse, methodological replication, and future comparative research in Knowledge Organization, legislative information, gender-based violence monitoring, public policy evaluation, and Sustainable Development Goal 5.
