资源简介:
The administration of antibiotics has been associated with an unsettled microbiota, coupled with a recent observation of heightened redox potential, which subsequently tends to revert either to a semblance of a stable, healthy state or a relatively consistent dysbiotic condition. Strategies such as antioxidant supplementation, autologous fecal transplantation, or cohabitation with untreated animals have been proposed to enhance the likelihood of the microbiota returning to a healthy equilibrium. In pursuit of these insights, we conducted an animal experiment with Hans Wistar rats, administering amoxicillin over a week. We measured redox potential, analyzed the microbiota and metabolome, and assessed the antioxidant capacity of the cecum content before the administration of antibiotics, after the antibiotic treatment, and following a week of recovery period. This experimental design aimed to test the hypothesis that antibiotics contribute to an elevation in redox potential and to observe the dynamics of recovery in the measured parameters.
