Burkholderia cepacia complex (BCC) is known as a deleterious pathogen in cystic fibrosis patients. BCC infections are difficult to treat, since BCC strains are intrinsically resistant to many groups of antibiotics. The aim of this study is to investigate the epidemiological, virulence and resistance characteristics of BCC strains, isolated from cystic fibrosis patients in Russia.
