These samples are from Pogonomyrmex barbatus (J-lineage) harvester ants with genetic caste determination. Because of the genetic caste determination the larvae can be genotyped to infer their female caste (queen or worker) even in the absence of visible differentiation. These data include four small larvae (1.2 - 1.8 mg), four large larvae (23 - 46 mg), four pupae, and four adults. Each developmental stage included two worker and two queen samples.
