AFD EMA VolunteerHours

Community Volunteers Volunteer time presents the hours of service provided by the affiliated emergency volunteers of the agency. All volunteers must maintain minimum quarterly requirements of hours served. The hours calculated are reflective of the hours reported by the individual volunteer, as approved by the agency, and are determined to be true at the time of monthly reporting. First Aid - Performed during direct support requests from city departments for the volunteer to provide first aid support to the public. Call Out - Direct support requests from city departments for the volunteers to provide traffic management during emergency incidents. Detail Event - Direct requests from city departments for scheduled events to support pedestrian and traffic management. Meeting - Volunteers meet on a bi-monthly basis, or as needed, during a formal meeting process to discuss agency and service needs. Training - Volunteers meet throughout the month for training on each of their chosen activities. Activities reflected here include Traffic Management, Ground Search and Rescue, HAM/Auxiliary Communications, Severe Weather, Public Education, First Aid, and/or Emergency Operations Center Support. Work Night - Volunteers perform a variety of other support or acquire hours through other EMA office approved activities.
