Number of proptech deals made in the U.S. 2013-2023

In 2023, the number proptech M&A deals in the United States decreased for the second year in a row, after soaring in 2021. A total of 94 proptech M&A deals took place in 2023, down from 162 in 2021. Proptech, also known as commercial real estate tech (CRE tech), refers to the use of technology and innovation in the real estate sector. Proptech can have various applications, including aiding leasing and purchase-sale transactions, property development and management, and financing and investment.
