Four data holdings are available from the Baltic Sea, Kattegat and Skagerrak.
Station Data from 70,000 stations, some from as far back as 1890, are
available. The principal parameters are temperature, salinity, O2
(from 1900), PO4P, pH (from 1955), P, NO2N, NO3N, NH4N, N, SiO2,
Alkalinity (from 1965), and Surface meteorology. 3 magnetic tapes
(1,600 BPI).
3,000 CTD casts (Plessey and Neil-Brown CTD-sond) are available from
1979 to the present, on 4 magnetic tapes (1600 BPI); data consist of
conductivity, salinity, and temperature versus depth.
Hydrography, physical and dynamic data are available from 11 lightships, taken
by water bottle and current meters. In the earlier years, monthly means, then
daily/every other day. There are 25,000 series, from 1880 to 1970, of varying
duration. One magnetic tape (1600 bpi).
From 1909 to 1911, and from 1930 to the present, temperature, salinity and
current data are available, taken by water bottle and current meters. There are
15,000 series, on one magnetic tape (1600 BPI).
