Dataset for: "Interfacial Tension and Surface Elasticity of Carbon Black Covered Oil-Water Interface"

This data set includes interfacial tension, drop volume, and drop surface area measurements for pendant drop tensiometry experiments that were performed using a Kruss DSA 100 tensiometer. Measurements were conducted to explore the effect of carboxyl-terminated carbon black particles on the fundamental properties of model oil water interfaces. Specifically, measurements were conducted to determine the dynamic interfacial tension and the interfacial viscoelasticity of the interface while varying carbon black concentration, aqueous salinity, and degree of convection in the system. This provides insight on carbon black adsorption and surface activity, which is critical information for understanding the feasibility of carbon black as an oil spill dispersant.
