Volume of gold demand in India 2018-2020

During the last quarter of 2020, India recorded nearly 190 metric tons in demand of gold. This was a slight decrease compared to the demand in the same quarter of 2019. Nevertheless, it was a relief for India's gold business as the demand had plunged over the other three quarters of 2020, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The yearly demand for gold in India amounted for 446 metric tons in 2020, a decrease by around 35 percent compared to the previous year.
