Genome sequence of Staphylococcus epidermidis KSE124-2. Staphylococcus epidermidis

To identify the bacteriocin among S. epidermidis clinical isolates, S. epidermidis isolates were collected from the volunteers. Using isolates, we identified one isolate which showed anti-S. aureus activity. Then, the genome sequence of this strain was determined to identify the genes responsible for bacteriocin synthesis. In addition, the bacteriocin activity against other staphylococcal species and othr skin commensal bacteria was investigated.
