Analysis of the cecum microbiota of mice fed low or high-temperature heat-sterilized amazake.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of oral administration of amazake with different sterilization temperature conditions on the cecum microbiota of mice. 7-week-old C57BL6 mice were divided into 3 groups of 6 mice each and orally administered low-temperature heat-sterilized amazake, high-temperature heat-sterilized amazake, high-temperature heat-sterilized amazake, or PBS as a control, each administered orally 5 times a week for 2 weeks. Two weeks after oral administration, cecum contents were collected for next-generation sequencing analysis based on the V3-4 region of 16S rRNA.
