The FRESH cohort is a longitudinal cohort based in KwaZulu-Natal that enrolls HIV-uninfected, non-pregnant women from a community with high HIV incidence. Participants engage in a female empowerment and poverty alleviation curriculum and receive frequent HIV viral load testing with periodic collection of blood and genital tract samples. This BioProject contains microbiome sequence data from genital tract samples collected from FRESH participants.
