Complete genome sequences and characterization of the vaccine candidate Mycobacterium bovis BCG delta BCG1419c and its parental strain BCG Pasteur ATCC 35734

The whole genome sequence (WGS) of Mycobacterium tuberculosis variant bovis Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) vaccine candidate BCG delta BCG1419c was produced and assembled. Compared to BCG Pasteur ATCC 35734, its parental strain genome, BCG delta BCG1419c demonstrated deletion of the BCG1419c gene. Evidence was provided that the mutagenesis of the BCG Pasteur ATCC 35734 affected the BCG1419c gene only.
