NRS-1297 | Registers of oyster leases [Fisheries Branch]

This series consists of three volumes registering oyster lease files and recording any movements of the files.The files are registered using the oyster lease number, the year followed by a single number for example 38/223, and the registers are arranged in file (lease) number order. Tabs for each year protruding from each volume help navigate the registers. From the middle of 1940 the lessee's name is also noted in the register and occasionally the size of the lease is also noted. The file movements, a date and location, are recorded in pencil alongside each file number.The files registered in these volumes may be found in NRS 1302 Oyster culture lease files.
