Dynamic Pricing Dataset for High-Speed Rail Modal Shift Analysis: Madrid-Barcelona Corridor Ticket Prices

This dataset contains 2.4 million price observations from Spanish high-speed rail (Renfe) services on the Madrid-Barcelona corridor collected in 2019. Dataset characteristics:- Routes: Madrid-Barcelona and Barcelona-Madrid- Time period: Full year 2019- Variables: Origin, destination, train type, train class, fare type, price, departure date/time, booking date/time- Total observations: ~2,400,000 records- Format: CSV (renfe.csv) This dataset was used in the research paper "The Double-Edged Sword of Dynamic Pricing: Bidirectional Modal Shift and Carbon Leakage in High-Speed Rail" published in MDPI Sustainability (2026).
