WMPO Railroad Crossings

The dataset provided includes point data for use in GIS that represents public crossings in the Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (WMPO). Only open and inactive crossings are included; closed crossings have been omitted. Attributes for each crossing inculde the crossing's FRA identification number and the latitude and longitude of the crossing. Crossing location and status were verfied by cross-referencing Federal Railroad Administration public crossing database with North Carolina Department of Transportation Rail Division's crossing database, railroad company track charts and aerial imagery. Where in doubt, crossing status has been investigated by contacting the rail company, land owner, or municipalilty within whose jurisdiction the crossing falls. The attributes are derived directly from NCDOT's State Authoritative Rail and Highway (SARAH) database.

本数据集包含适用于地理信息系统（Geographic Information System，GIS）的点位数据，用于呈现威尔明顿都市区城市规划组织（Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization，WMPO）管辖范围内的公共平交道口。本数据集仅收录处于开放与停用状态的平交道口，已剔除已关闭的道口数据。每个平交道口的属性包含其联邦铁路管理局（Federal Railroad Administration，FRA）标识编号，以及该道口的经纬度坐标。平交道口的位置与状态通过多源交叉验证确认：比对联邦铁路管理局（FRA）公共平交道口数据库、北卡罗来纳州交通运输部铁路分局平交道口数据库、铁路公司线路图以及航空影像。若存在存疑情况，则通过联系道口所属辖区内的铁路公司、土地所有者或地方政府，对道口状态进行核实。本次所用的属性数据直接源自北卡罗来纳州交通运输部（North Carolina Department of Transportation，NCDOT）的州级权威铁路与公路（State Authoritative Rail and Highway，SARAH）数据库。
