Data mining of transcriptome profile of almond infected with Candidatus Phytoplasma phoenicium using RNA-seq

Almond (Prunus dulcis), a major worldwide nut crop, is facing increasing threats from the novel phytoplasma, Candidatus Phytoplasma phoenicium, the causal agent of almond witches'-broom (AlmWB) disease. This study aimed to characterize the transcriptome responses of almond to phytoplasma infection using RNA-Seq analysis. We identified a total of 19,641 unigenes, and of those, 621 genes showed a significant differential expression between infected and healthy samples.
