We generated a draft genome assembly of Aubrieta canescens and A. macrostyla taxa and compared them in terms of genome-wide characters. The genomic evolution of the A. canescens complex and Arabis alpina has been compared in respect of homologous genes. These novel genome assemblies are the first steps towards the chromosome-level assembly of A. canescens and understanding the genome diversity within the genus.
