资源简介:

12th century multi-scallop capitals of the triple-ordered west doorway into the multi-period church ruins (OF015-004003-) at Lemanaghan, County Offaly. The capital of the doorway acted as the top or crown of a column, which supported the archway or arches of the doorway opening. Around the top is a flat section called an abacus. Below the abacus is a more slender section called the necking which tapers down to the shaft or column. The junction between the column and the capital is often marked with a narrow moulding. The flat surfaces on the capitals at Lemanaghan Church are decorated with multiple scallops.
