THE TRANSFORMATION OF TRADITIONAL MYTHOLOGICAL IMAGES IN CONTEMPORARY ENGLISH AND UZBEK LITERATURE

This article explores the transformation of traditional mythological images in contemporary English and Uzbek literature. It analyzes how figures from ancient Greek, Norse, Turkic, and Islamic mythologies are reinterpreted in modern contexts, adapted to social, political, and cultural issues. Drawing on examples from works by Neil Gaiman, Madeline Miller, Margaret Atwood, and Uzbek authors such as Aman Mukhtar and U. Khamdam, the study examines the evolution of mythological images. The research findings indicate that mythological figures acquire new meanings through contemporary literature, reflecting processes of cultural identification and globalization.
