The specific labeling and dynamic detection of cysteine (Cys) have significant scientific implications for the study of related physiological and pathological mechanisms, and the development of new drugs. From the perspective of fluorescence regulation mechanism, Cys fluorescent probes with acrylic ester and aldehyde groups as recognition groups are classified and summarized in this paper. Meanwhile, it is analyzed in detail of the probe optical properties and potential biological applications for each regulatory mechanism. It also looks forward to the development direction of Cys fluorescent probes based on the above recognition groups. It is expected that this paper can help researchers quickly understand the regulatory mechanism and current status of Cys fluorescent probes, and provide ideas for the design and development of new probes.
