Research of Interaction Between Forest Ecosystem Management and Community Development

Ecosystem management should combine community and forestry together, and accomplish the community-based forest ecosystem management. The purpose of this research is to assess the totally social benefit of forest ecosystem management, and explore the interactive relationship between forest ecosystem management and community development, and the model of community forestry. The major issues of the project include participation mechanism of local economy. In this year, the analyses of stream conservation and public participation mechanism will be implemented in Liu-Kuei and Lien-Hua-Chih areas, in order to understand the content, effect, participation method, and community development problem in the local areas. Through the reach, an interactive model between ecosystem management and community development will be established. Also, the effect of forest management will be intensified the local economy will be improved. In addition, the illegal cutting and cultivation in forest land will be reduced, and national forest will be conserved.
