Microbiome alteration via fecal microbiota transplantation is effective for refractory immune checkpoint inhibitor-induced colitis

We report the largest case study of patients with immune mediated colitis (IMC) to be treated with fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) as a salvage therapy. Symptom relieve of complete responders was associated with increased overall alpha diversity and an increase in specific bacterial genera, including Bifidobacterium and Collinsella, from the donor stool sample.
