The time course of whole blood gene expression was determined in healthy adult human participants who were randomised to receive either a single intramuscular immunisation with Boostrix vaccine (characteristics: treatment = BOOSTRIX) or equivalent volume saline control (characteristics: treatment = PLACEBOD2). Participants are identified who reported having had an immunisation with Boostrix within the past 5 years (characteristics: recent boostrix = 1). Overall design: Participants attended a single outpatient unit (CEVAC, Gent, Belgium). Pre-immunisation baseline samples were drawn on day 0, and further samples collected on days 1, 7 and 28. Half the participants were allocated to also attend on day 2 whereas the other half attended on day 3 instead. All samples were collected into PaxGene tubes. Immunisations were given on day 0 after baseline blood draw.
