The dataset is named Expérimentations 5G and aims to enable innovators, industrial players, and vertical sector actors to adopt 5G-related technologies and new use cases, while benefiting from diverse feedback. It is provided by the French Electronic Communications and Postal Regulatory Authority (Arcep) through two experimentation windows (3.8-4.0 GHz and 26 GHz bands), allowing interested parties to apply for frequency usage authorizations in a more flexible framework. The data comes from application forms submitted by participants and has been corrected, only in form, by Arcep. The dataset is available in CSV format, encoded in CP1252 (Windows), with field separator ; and string separator ". Each row represents a 5G experimentation site and includes fields such as experimenter, frequency band, allocated frequency limits (low and high), Arcep authorization decision number, authorization link, latitude and longitude coordinates, INSEE code, municipality, department, region, start and end dates of authorization, description of the experiment, and boolean flags for various technologies (e.g., Massive MIMO, Beamforming) and uses (e.g., Internet of Things, smart city). It provides detailed geographic, technical, and administrative information on experimentation sites, suitable for 5G technology research, policy analysis, and application development.
