# DPE New housing (since July 2021) ### Energy Performance Diagnosis (DPE) # The Energy Performance Diagnosis (DPE) provides information on the energy and environmental performance of a dwelling or building, assessing its energy consumption and its impact on greenhouse gas emissions. The content and procedures for establishing the EPD are regulated. The DPE contains information on the characteristics of the building or dwelling (area, orientation, walls, windows, materials, etc.) as well as its equipment (heating, domestic hot water production, ventilation, etc.) For housing, the DPE has been reformed which entered into force on 1 July 2021. Its objective is to make the DPE reliable in order to make it the central mechanism in the regulation related to energy renovation. The main developments are: * Generalisation of the calculation method (3CL) to all dwellings * Change from 3 to 5 energy uses (addition of lighting and auxiliary consumption) * Integration of a double-threshold taking into account greenhouse gas emissions in the DPE label. As part of the reform in force since 1 July 2021, the Ademe was again identified as responsible for collecting EPRs ([Article 4 of the Order of 31 March 2021 on methods and procedures for energy performance diagnostics](https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/loda/id/JORFTEXT000043353381/2022-03-17/)). Given the nature of the developments, a new data model has been established.
