XRD data files

These are the raw data files in .xrdml format that were generated by the Panalytical Aeris Research edition X-Ray Diffractometer at Durham University, Archaeology Depeartment. The analyses were undertaken on small blocks (2 -3 g) of steatite. Each sample (which was collected adjacent to the portion polished for petrological analysis) was crushed and milled in an agate ball mill before analysis.

The file names correspond to the sample number, see Chmielowski 2024 thesis, section 6.1 for a description of how the samples were named. Some of the samples were analysed with the XRD on two different occasions. In these cases the file name was extended with “-again”, and both files have been included.
