Sediment samples were collected is from the right Bank of Narmada river near Hathnora village. Prior C14 dating of shell from the same layer has yielded a date of 35 Ka. The concerned section comprises an alternating sequence of slit, sand, and clay, denoting a typical low energy fluvial context. The sediments are mottled gray-pink-white-brown in color and also contains calcrete nodules and seems to be underlain by a cemented sandy-pebbly gravel layer dominated by pebbles of quartzite and other material.
