资源简介:
Motivation of intergenerational transfers has been the object of much exploration by previous researchers, and reciprocity and altruism are mostly discussed as factors that drive parent-child exchanges. This research evaluated the relationship between parents’ transfers of time and financial assistance to their young children and the magnitude of adult children’s social and financial support to elderly parents. Using data from the University of Southern California Longitudinal Study of Generations, and China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study, structural equation models were constructed to address the research topic, and transfer pattern was compared between the U.S. and China.
