Corrosion Behaviour of a Biodegradable Rare-earth Magnesium Alloy in Modified Simulated Body Fluid

This thesis investigates the behavior of WE43 magnesium alloy in conditions that simulate the human body. It reveals that glucose and protein significantly influence corrosion and stress cracking. These findings suggest that additional protection is necessary to ensure the safety and effectiveness of magnesium implants in different body environments. The practical value of this research lies in improving the longevity and reliability of dissolvable medical implants, making them safer for patients.
