Macrosteles quadrilineatus (Aster Leafhopper; Hemiptera:Cicadellidae) is an agricultural pest and a vector of a plant pathogen which can cause asters yellows disease. The aster leafhopper is also of interest for biological features due to its long co-evolutionary history with two endosymbiotic bacteria. This work generated a chromosome-level genome assembly of M. quadrilineatus for future research.
