Abstract: Artificial intelligence is becoming an important part of English language education because it can provide personalized practice, immediate feedback, and additional opportunities for communication. This thesis discusses the use of AI tools in English language teaching with special attention to academic lyceums and secondary education. The analysis is based on recent scholarly literature and international guidance on responsible AI use in education. The findings show that AI can support writing, speaking, pronunciation, reading, listening, formative assessment, and learner autonomy. At the same time, AI integration creates challenges related to academic integrity, plagiarism, data privacy, algorithmic bias, unequal access, and teacher digital competence. The thesis argues that AI should not replace English teachers; rather, it should be used as a supportive pedagogical tool. A balanced and human-centered approach can help teachers make language learning more flexible, interactive, and meaningful.
