Fecundity comparison of T. japonicus strains

To investigate the variability among all our laboratory colonies of <i>Trissolcus japonicus</i>, we produced additional female isolines for the colonies originating from Basel, Bern and Zurich (all adventive in Switzerland) and Heilongjiang (native to China). Female isolines from Manno (Switzerland) were used as a control to verify comparability with the results for the parental Manno line of the previous crossing experiment. Egg masses only producing males or no parasitoids were discarded. For the comparison of the different lines, the reproductive performance and schedule, the sex ratio of the offspring and the development time of the F1 generation were measured.
