Stability and temperature stress in the EBPR bioprocess in tropical climates

This study investigates the engineering biology of enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EPBR), a bioprocess known to reduce phosphate levels in wastewater. Here we focus on addressing issues related to thermal stress above 30 degrees C in EBPR systems operating at tropical climate temperatures, using enrichment reactor targeting polyphosphate accumulating organisms (PAO). The data deposited here are a whole community shotgun gDNA survey from longitudinal sampling of these reactor communities, examining the long term stability and effect of thermal stress.
