This dataset provides comprehensive insights into the dispersal of whole aquatic plants by capybaras (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris) within a controlled environment. It comprises two tables available in the supplementary material: Table 1: Estimation of Plants Added to Container: This table presents estimates of the number of plants added to the container before the capybara experiment. Sampling involved 12 random samples using an 8.55 cm² sampler. Each sample recorded the number of plant taxa (Wolffia, Lemna, Salvinia, and Azolla) and provided estimates for the total number of plants in the container area (1307.25 cm²). The table also includes statistical summaries such as mean, standard deviation, mean standard error, and confidence intervals for each plant species. Table 2: Estimation of Plants Carried to Pool by Capybara: This table showcases estimates of the number of plants carried to the pool by the capybara after 24 hours of the experiment. Similar to Table 1, sampling involved 12 random samples, this time using a 79.75 cm² sampler. Each sample recorded the number of plant taxa and provided estimates for the total number of plants in the pool area (30195.25 cm²). Statistical summaries for each plant species are also provided at the end of the table.
