Supplementary data for Global, regional, and national burden of traumatic brain injury and skull fracture due to falls from 1990 to 2021

From 1990 to 2021, although the number of incidence, prevalence and YLDs have increased for all injurie types, the age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR), age-standardized prevalence rate (ASPR) and age-standardized YLDs rate (ASYLDR) of all injurie types have decreased, with the exception of moderate/severe TBI due to falls, which suggests that existing fall prevention measures have been more effective in reducing minor incidents than in protecting vulnerable populations—particularly the elderly—from serious outcomes.
