This dataset is comprised of toxicity and biochemical and morphological assays that describe properties of resistance to dioxin-like compounds (DLCs) in four populations of Gulf killifish (Fundulus grandis) embryos. Two of these populations (Vince Bayou - VB and Paul's Bayou - PB) have been identified to be resistant to cardiac teratogenicity associated with exposure to polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs.) Two reference populations were utilized for comparison (Gang's Bayou - GB and Smith Bayou -SP). Embyros were assessed for cross-resistance to pesticides (pyrethroid (permethrin), and carbamate (carbaryl)) and two model pro-oxidants (tert-butyl hydroquinone (tBHQ) and tert-butyl hydroperoxide (tBOOH)). Endpoints are mortality, degree of cardiac deformity, and the ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase (EROD) assay to establish downregulation of cytochrome P450 1A as an indication of aryl-hydrocarbon receptor recalcitrance in resistant embryos. Morphological assays score the degree of heart deformities in embryos exposed to PCB-126.
