The remediation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) contaminated soil has attracted global attention, and the use of bioremediation methods has been widely applied due to their environmentally friendly, effective, and cost-efficient advantages. Soil microbial fuel cell (SMFC), which induce inherent electric fields to enhance the removal of pollutants near electrodes, shedding lights on the remediation of PAHs contaminated soil. However, the remediation efficiency is hindered by high internal resistance within the soil environment. This study proposed to integrate biochar granular (BCG) with SMFC to mitigate internal resistance and enhance the PAHs removal efficiency.
