资源简介:
The data provided represent the results of the titled study above. The study aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial activity and the mechanism of action of the frog-derived antimicrobial peptide CPF-MW1 against Gram-negative bacteria using E. coli ATCC 700928 as a model organism. The objectives of the study included the following: Antibacterial activity determination (both anti-planktonic and anti-biofilm)Peptide cytotoxicity evaluation both on human erythrocytes and HaCaT cell line.Mechanism of action evaluation including time-kill kinetics, membrane permeabilisation and scanning electron microscopy.Peptide stability in physiological conditions evaluated by pre-exposure to proteolytic enzyme (trypsin) and fetal calf serum.
All data provided represents a set of three independent experiments performed in triplicate, unless stated otherwise. Data was analyzed and processed using GraphPad prism 8 software. Each data point was calculated as an average of three biological repeats each consisting of three technical repeats generating 9 data points unless stated otherwise. All data was expressed as means ± standard error of the means (SEM). The normality of data was first determined and depending on the normality of the data, multiple comparisons were tested using either the One-way ANOVA with Turkey’s post hoc tests, or the Kruskal-Wallis ANOVA with Duns’ post hoc tests. Significance was determined at a 95% confidence interval, and any p-value < 0.05 was identified as significant.
