Benidorm urban flow digital model and wind tunnel tests at UPV-CMT

This dataset contains a digital model with sample results and the experimental data from wind tunnel testing of the selected area of Benidorm, Spain, which was selected as the main target site of project MODERA. UPV selected this area since it acts as an "urban lab" inside the EU project U-ELCOME (GA 101079171). Digital model A Large Eddy Simulation (LES) digital model built in Siemens StarCCM+ format is provided. Sample results from both RANS and LES digital models are also provided in a zip file. The configuration of the provided model replicates the IDR-UPM experimental setup linked below. Experimental data This zip file contains the wind-tunnel datasets performed by the CMT - Clean Mobility & Thermofluids (UPV) institute. The same physical model was tested by IDR-UPM, with results available at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.16528136. CMT experiments measure 124 (62-probe scanner in two experiments, "box1" and "box2") out of the 294 pressure probes used by the IDR. The Excel file "CMTprobes" relates the original names for the IDR probes to the pressure time series measured by CMT. CMT's experimental features: Wind tunnel: Open-circuit, 2.8 × 2.8 m section, 22 m length, 9 fans (45 kW each), maximum velocity 32.5 m/s, turbulence intensity 0.2%. Surface pressure: 124 taps, Chell microDAQ3 scanner, range 0.5–400 kPa, error 0.02%, sampling 400 Hz, duration 120 s. Pitot probe upstream of the model for reference.
