Das ISAK dient der Identifikation von Problembereichen in den ärztlichen Arbeitsbedingungen. Eingesetzt wird es in Kliniken und Krankenhäusern sowie für Forschungszwecke. Die Langversion des ISAK besteht aus 23 Skalen und 84 Items, die Kurzversion (ISAK-K) aus 14 Skalen und 30 Items, die Stressoren und Ressourcen von Klinikärzten erfassen. Das ISAK basiert auf der arbeitspsychologischen Erweiterung des Transaktionalen Stressmodells sowie der Handlungsregulationstheorie. Reliabilität: Die internen Konsistenzen der Skalen liegen zwischen Cronbachs Alpha = .70 und Alpha = .95. Validität: Die ISAK-Skalen korrelieren mit Befindlichkeitsvariablen signifikant bis hochsignifikant. Mittels einer konfirmatorischen Faktorenanalyse konnte die Skalenstruktur des ISAK bestätigt werden. Für die Konstruktvalidität sprechen die Skaleninterkorrelationen. Positive Korrelationen liegen für die Skalengruppe Stressoren bzw. Ressourcen vor. Stressoren-Skalen und Ressourcen-Skalen korrelieren erwartungsgemäß negativ miteinander, was ein Beleg für die konvergente und diskriminante Validität der Skalen ist.
