C57LBL/6 mice (age 24 weeks) were exposed to 0,75 Gy of Si ions, 5-ion simplified GCR simulation, or reference gamma rays. Some mice received nicotinamide riboside countermeasure. Lung tissue was collected after 30 days and flash frozen. Overall design: Mice were irradiated as listed in the samples section. 5-ion simplfieid GCR simulation is defined as 1 GeV 1-H (34.8%), 600 MeV/U 28-Si (1.1%), 250 MeV/U 4-He ((18.0%), 350 MeV/U 16-O (5.8%), 600 MeV/U 56-Fe (1.0%) and 250 MeV 1-H (39.2%). Nicotinamide riboside was administered continuously in drinking water, starrting prior to irradiation, at a concentration of 12 mM.
