3DPWP model results and oceanographic data collected within the Bay of Bengal by JAMES during May 2020

The dataset includes two types of data: subsurface mooring and 3DPWP simulation data. The mooring data were obtained from an international corporation cruise, named as JAMES, in the eastern equatorial Indian Ocean during May 2020. Hydrographic data from subsurface mooring are obtained by the measurements of mooring-mounted ADCP, CTD, and RBR. The 3DPWP model is initially in a static status, and horizontal temperature and salinity are homogeneous. This dataset can be used to analyze the upper ocean thermohaline and dynamical response of the Bay of Bengal to tropical Cyclone Amphan, as well as the nonlinear interaction between TC-induced near-inertial waves and internal tides.
