Microplastics in sediments, Western Black Sea, DOORS Cruise 1 (MN240)

The dataset contains data on the distribution and types of microplastics in upper layer (5 cm) of seafloor sediments in the Western Black Sea (Romanian EEZ) collected during DOORS cruise 1 (MN240), May 2023. Sediment sampling was performed using a Van Veen Grab and a multicorer from seafloor depths ranging from 25 m to 1080 m. Microplastic particles were selected by density separation and verified using Raman spectroscopy. Particle number were calculated for a 200 g dry sample.
