The dataset provides a comprehensive toxicological profile of PM2.5 collected from major anthropogenic emission sources and different regional atmospheres across China, with a focus on cellular oxidative stress (EC1.5 value) and cytotoxicity (IC50 or IC20 value) potency. In addition to source-specific and ambient PM2.5 samples, the dataset also includes quantified toxic potencies for three key chemical groups identified within the particles: polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), inorganic elements, and elemental carbon (EC) fractions (char and soot). The toxicities of these chemical constituents were determined through established concentration-response relationships.
This integrated dataset is a valuable resource for researchers in environmental health, toxicology, and source-based risk assessment, enabling comparative analyses of the inherent toxic potential of different PM2.5 sources and their chemical drivers.
