The Streptomyces rimosus M527 was isolated from plant rhizosphere of Xixi National wetland Park, No. 518 Tianmushan Road, Hangzhou, China. Based on 16S rDNA sequence analysis, the isolate M527 was identified as Streptomyces rimosus and was deposited at the China Center for Type Culture Collection with the number CCTCC M2013270. S. rimosus M527 has been shown to produce rimocidin, which exhibited the strongest inhibitory activity against a broad range of plant pathogenic fungi, including Rhizoctonia solani Kühn, Fusarium oxysporum f. sp niveum and F. oxysporum f. sp. Cucumerinum, therefore, it was an important microbial resource in agriculture.
