MiFish metabarcoding data of river samples in Fukuoka, Japan (5 November, 2019)

MiFish metabarcoding was conducted on three rivers in Fukuoka, Japan: the Sagita River, the Mikasa River and the Osano River. Water sampling was conducted on November 5, 2019. At each site, water samples were collected into four 1 L bottles, two of which were spiked with benzalkonium chloride solution to a final concentration of 0.01%. DNA was extracted from one sample spiked with benzalkonium chloride and one sample without on the day of collection (5 November, 2019), and from the remaining two refrigerated samples 2 days later (7 November, 2019). MiFish metabarcoding was used to compare the fish fauna of the four samples.
