Hemiprocne comata (whiskered treeswift) genome, bHemCom1

The whiskered treeswft (Hemiprocne comata) is the smallest of 4 species in the genus Hemiprocne, and tropical areas of the Pacific Southwest (from Wikipedia entry). This sample from a female in the Philippians, collected by C. A. Ross and colleagues. It was further procured by Gary Graves of the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C., to generate a high-quality reference for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted at the Vertebrate Genomes Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, lead by Olivier Fedrigo and Erich D. Jarvis, with support from Tom Gilbert and Jarvis.
